The friend in my adversity I shall always cherish most. I can better trust those who helped to relieve the gloom of my dark hours than those who are so ready to enjoy with me the sunshine of my prosperity.

Thankful for…

1. Two loving and understanding parents who are healthy and who provide for their two daughters in every way they can. I realize that I am not enough as a daughter and I realize that parents’ love is truly an example of what it means to truly love.

Thanks Umma and Appa. :)

Thank your mom and dad. It doesn’t have to be Mother’s Day or Father’s Day to show appreciation! (something I am always attempting to work on!)

Just for today
Do not get angry
Do not worry
Be thankful
Work hard
Be kind to others

Lesson learned!

I FINALLY understand the biggest of many faults I have that has often led to dead ends or detrimental results. It has taken me THIS long to finally figure it out! I am a control freak and I rush into things so very quickly without thinking deeply about it. I cannot even begin to tell you how many times I have rushed into things, whether it be relationships or even just messing up on my loans, so now I owe so much to the government because I rushed into it. However, rushing things have led to dead end relationships or other bad results. Although it has taken me this long to “figure” it out, I’m so glad I did. Certain things in our lives happen so that we learn from them. I’ve definitely learned.

Desperate Housewives used to be my guilty pleasure. Today marked their last episodes of 10 years. I got a bit teary-eyed when it ended. The last episode showed all the women leaving Wisteria Lane and embarking on other journeys. Although they sincerely promised that they would continue to play “poker” together, they ended up having lives of their own. I felt a bit sad about this. The sad reality is that the people you were often close with become distant strangers. They all lead their own lives and continue on different chapters without having you as a part of your life. Although this is a hard and sad reality, I’d like to believe that the people I’ve met and the people I continue to cherish and love will always continue to be a part of my life and that we may continue to walk these various journeys together.

Thankful for…

1. my sister. She’s my best friend, sister and mom all in one. We had such a great weekend together. We had our usual tri-monthly fights with lots of crying and physical fighting, but at the end of it, we’re wiping each others’ tears and laughing hysterically. When I was younger, I always thought my sister was this perfect superhero that could do no wrong or have any bad feelings, but as we’ve gotten older, I can see that she is human too with superhero qualities. :) It’s nice to know that, although, she is significantly older, we’re on the same page in life and we deal with the same issues. I love her.

2. my mom. (read my other post)

3. my dad. Although it’s not father’s day just yet, I am so grateful for having a wonderful man in my life. He is the best father and he adores his two little girls so much. Thank you, dad, for continuously loving on us.

4. friends. Just recently I started to think about the relationships that I have formed over the years. Some relationships have turned out sour and toxic while other relationships have blossomed. I am so thankful and blessed for the constant people who deal with my insanity and crap anytime. I am so so thankful. Without you girls, I don’t know where I would be and what I would do. I just hope you know how much you mean to me and I could be the greatest friend that you have been to me. :)

5. cleaning supplies. This one is weird, but ahhh, the simple things in life. :) I love cleaning. I am a bit anal and OCD and I love colorox wipes. They are genius! Thanks, Colorox wipes people! :)

What are you thankful for today? I hope your mom, first and foremost! :)

Happy Mothers Day! I love you Umma. :)

I love this song. Thank you to my amazing friend, Shaan for sharing this song! :) So very thankful for him.

Thankful for…

(I haven’t done this in a while. It’s nice to consciously think about what you’re thankful for on a daily basis)

1. My amazing mom. We’ve had our differences over the years and I’m sure when I was younger, I was the biggest brat known to mankind to my mom. As I’ve grown older, I see a new perspective of my mom. She’s hardworking. If there’s anything to be thankful for in this world, it’s my mom. I love you so much.

2. My kinders. I know that I’ve already mentioned how much I am thankful for them, but you don’t realize how amazing I feel when I step into the classroom and I get to see all 72 Kindergartners. I love kinders especially because they are so excited about learning something new each day and there is a spirit of warmth, love and compassion in their hearts.

3. Food. It is so easy for us to forget that food is scarce is some parts of the world and it’s so easy for us to complain that something isn’t good or we just waste food. I am thankful for having food on the table every single day.

4. My memory box. This one is weird, but I am thankful that I have a memory box where I store all the special cards and little trinkets that people have given me over the years. When I’m having a down day, I go back and look at them once in a while.

What are some things you are thankful for today?

I love music.
